Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane has welcomed news that construction of Ballaghaderreen Primary Care Centre looks set to commence this year.
It comes after the developer accepted the terms of the letter of acceptance last week, ahead of the end of June deadline.
Deputy Kerrane said it was now critical the centre moves to the next phase of development and that services were in place as soon as possible.
The health facility was first proposed back in 2012 while planning permission for the project was granted in 2021.
Speaking to Shannonside News, the Sinn Féin TD said it was important that it wouldn't become just an empty building in the Ballaghaderreen:
