There are calls for Leitrim County Council to contact the HSE to express concern about a lack of emergency mental health services locally. Sinn Féin's Roisin Kenny is bringing forward a motion to today's council meeting on the issue.

It was revealed last month that only 198 mental health patients were admitted to Sligo University Hospital in 2025. That's despite over 1200 presenting to the emergency department. Cllr Kenny says the current situation isn't good enough:
