A GAA pitch in memory of a Garda who was murdered in west Roscommon will be officially opened today.
Taoiseach Simon Harris will unveil the Colm Horkan Memorial Pitch and Community Walkways at Sarsfields GAA Club in Charlestown at 1pm.
Colm, who was shot dead in Castlerea in 2020, played for the Co Mayo club. He was stationed as a Garda in Ballaghaderreen for some time and local man Micheál Frain is welcoming today's honour.
