People in Longford can get rid of some of their unwanted mattresses, beds or other large items of furniture at a special collection taking place in Longford town this morning.
The collection will run from 10 0' clock this morning until 1 o' clock this afternoon at Furniture Recycling Ltd in Townspark.
Charges of €20 euro will apply for a car, and €30 euro for a car with a single trailer.

Longford Environmental Officer Gary Brady is encouraging people to take the opportunity to dispose of their large unwanted items in a responsible way.
He says there will also be another special collection day on next Friday in Drumlish to deal with large goods, and household wastes:
