Close to €1 million in funding has been secured for local sport partnerships.
It comes as part of Sport Ireland's investment of €12 million in sports across the country.
This investment funds the day-to-day running of sports bodies and delivers on commitments outlined in the National Sports Policy and the Programme for Government.
The amount of money allocated is decided based on the national significance of each sport, quality of programmes, as well as levels of participation and membership.
Co. Roscommon received the highest amount in funding, at a total of €411,900.
That is followed by Co. Leitrim at €307,420.
While €277,540 has been earmarked for sport partnerships in Co. Longford.
Out of a total of €996,860 secured for the Shannonside region, only €25,830 has been allocated to initiatives aimed at encouraging women's participation in sport.
