A local councillor has called on the government to amend the proposed changes to blister pack charges. Leitrim Councillor Gary Prior told Shannonside FM the proposed arrangement risks significant additional costs for vulnerable patients who rely on blister packs to manage complex prescriptions safely.
The Government had previously delayed the decision to the first quarter of 2026 following political backlash back in December. Cllr Prior said the charges would add extra anxiety to patients:
