Civil Defence hit out at "unacceptable" behaviour of youths in Tarmonbarry

Roscommon Civil defence has hit out at the" unacceptable" behaviour of a minority of youths who threw empty bottles of beer at staff last night.

In a Facebook post this afternoon, the voluntary organisation claim that their boat crew were in Tarmonbarry last night when the objects were thrown in their direction.

Civil Defence crew removed up to six bottles from the water as they posed a danger to other swimmers and boat users.

The organisation says that the behaviour of the young people was unacceptable and “paints a bad picture to those visiting the area.”
