The Minister for Health has been urged to reverse the new charge on medication blister packs for older people.

From January 1st, OAPs will be required to pay for the service between 10 and 25 euro, which was previously free.

Concerns have been raised that the change will place additional hardship on pensioners already struggling with rising costs.

It's also feared it could lead to confusion over medication management among older patients.
