Their last competitive clash was in the 2019 Allianz League when Dublin won by six points, 1-16 to 1-10 in Kingspan Breffni Park.

Dublin’s last championship defeat was six years ago losing the 2014 All-Ireland semi-final to Donegal, since the turn of the century Dublin have contested 13 semi-final’s losing six.

History favours Dublin in this tie with the four previous championship meetings of the teams (all All-Ireland semi-finals) all going Dublin’s way.

Dublin’s top scorer in the championship is Dean Rock with 1-16 (0-12f, 0-2’45s’), followed by Ciaran Kilkenny 1-13, Sean Bugler 2-4, Niall Scully 1-5, Cormac Costello 0-7 (0-3f, 0-1 mark).

Cavan’s top scorer is Gearoid McKiernan with 11 points (0-6f), followed by Martin Reilly 2-2 (1 pen), Conor Madden 1-5, Thomas Galligan 0-5 (1m), Oisin Kiernan 0-5 and Oisin Pierson 1-1.
