It's been confirmed today that the Castlerea swimming pool will not open tomorrow as planned. The outdoor heated pool in the town usually opens towards the end of June each summer.
Local Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice confirmed that the pool is commissioned and ready for use but the required amount of lifeguards are not in place yet. Cllr Fitzmaurice says he hopes the issue can be resolved before this Sunday:
