Carrick is becoming 'dysfunctional' as business closures continue, claims O'Hora
Kelly's Foodstore closed last month after nearly four decades

It comes after Kelly's Foodstore closed after 36 years last month, while Crumbs Sandwich Bar shut after 20 years.

It's claimed Carrick-on-Shannon is becoming 'dysfunctional' due to the closure of longstanding businesses.

It comes after Kelly's Foodstore closed after 36 years last month, while Crumbs Sandwich Bar shut after 20 years.

The town remains a very popular destination for the entertainment sector, such as stag and hen parties.

But Carrick resident Leslie O'Hora, from the Green Party, says the recent business closures are a concern.

O'Hora is also concerned about the lack of long-term accommodation in the town.
