Calls have been in south Leitrim to ensure enough staff are in place to cover allocated home help hours. The service is described as essential for elderly and disabled people across local communities. However, concerns are growing about ongoing staffing shortages in the south of the county.
Local Cllr Róisín Kenny is calling on the local authority to contact the HSE on the matter. The Sinn Féin representative says the role of the home help cannot be understated:
