A Longford councillor is calling for roadside water pumps to be reinstated.
Councillor Martin Monaghan recently raised the motion in response to the aftermath of Storm Éowyn, which resulted in widespread water outages.
It comes as the Climate Council warns the State isn't ready to deal with storms like Darragh or Éowyn -- or others in the future.
The Newtownforbes politician is proposing works on existing, unused pumps and wells in Longford to ensure they are functioning in the case of a disruption to services.
