Bishop of Elphin confirms plans to offer communions in Diocese

The communions are to go-ahead despite public health advice against them

The Bishop of Elphin has pledged to offer communion masses to families in his Diocese, despite public health advice.

Government says baptisms, communions and confirmations should not take place at this time with post-ceremony gatherings highlighted as potential viral spreading points.

Baptisms will be allowed from next Thursday once protective measures are put in place with health experts urging the public not to to gather in unsafe numbers afterwards.
