A Longford apprentice who won a major international trades competition is urging people of all ages to consider apprenticeships. Dan O'Shea from Fort Hill has beaten over 2,700 apprentices from across the UK and Ireland to be named this year's Screwfix Trade Apprentice champion. The apprentice electrician wowed judges with his passion for renewable energy and creating an inclusive trade. He has taken home a prize bundle of tools, training and technology worth €10,000, with a further €2,000 worth of Screwfix vouchers for the GRETB where he is studying.
