Average rents for new tenancies locally rose in first quarter of 2025

The average rents for new tenancies in the Shannonside region rose by on average 10.33% in the first three months of the year. They are part a 5.5% rise nationally according to the Residential Tenancies Board. Figures show that rent locally for new tenancies was highest in Longford from January to March at €1,145. This was followed closely by Roscommon at €1,102 and Leitrim at €1,069. Each county also experienced increases with it came to existing tenancies.

The average rent price in Longford was €938, up 10.2 per cent compared with this time last year. Existing tenants were paying on average €924 in Roscommon, up 4.4 per cent. While €799 was the average price in Longford, a rise of 10.2 per cent.
