Attempts to avert Aer Lingus strike action underway

An attempt will be made today to avert strike at Aer Lingus.

Pilots have voted in favour of industrial action after their demand for an almost 24 per cent pay rise was rejected.

Aer Lingus says the strike plan is unnecessary and regrettable.

President of the Irish Airline Pilots Association Captain Mark Tighe insists the pay demand is valid.
