A US based company GlobalLogic has announced that it's entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sidero Ltd in Athlone, an engineering services and cloud-native software development company.
GlobalLogic says this strategic acquisition aims to bolster their company's capabilities in the dynamic Communications technology sector, and expand its European presence in Ireland.
The statement says that Sidero's expertise in technologies such as Radio Access Networks, Self-Optimizing Networks , Cloud, and Agile development practices are a clear complement to GlobalLogic's deep engineering portfolio.
Sidero Ltd was founded in Athlone in 2013 and employs design and engineering teams based in Athlone and Newry, with a current workforce of 240.
Under the agreement, Sidero will continue to operate with its existing leadership and staff as a wholly owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic.
