Westmeath County Council has granted their approval for a new housing development in Athlone.
Wincove Land ltd had applied for 16 houses at Baylough and Bogganfin on the Galway Road in Athlone.
The development will include three 5 bed three-storey units, four 4 bedroom three-storey houses and one each 3 and two bed unit.

The plans include pedestrian access to St. Joseph's Villas, vehicle and pedestrian access to the Galway Road and ancillary site development works and services.
The application has been approved with 14 conditions attached.
These include a deposit payable to Westmeath County Council of €96,000 and a cash payment of over €21,000 to the planning authority.
