Almost 50 admitted patients were on trolleys in local hospitals this morning. There were 28 waiting at Sligo University Hospital, with 16 and 5 in the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar and Portiuncula respectively.
University Hospital Limerick accounts for the largest number of those, with 84 followed by University Hospital Galway with 57 and Cork University Hospital with 52. Of the total number of people waiting for beds, 303 were in emergency departments while 147 are in wards, according to the INMO.
