Almost 150,000 patients have been waiting for a bed at hospitals serving the Shannonside region in the last 20 years.
That's according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation as it marks 20 years of its trolley watch report.
According to the orgainsation, over 1.7 million people have been treated on a trolley, chairs, or in another inappropriate location since figures commenced in 2006.
In the last decade alone, over 1 million people have been on trolleys.
Sligo University Hospital sees the highest amount locally.
From 2006 to 2026, the figure there is 70,407.
In the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, there have been 48,837 while Portinucula has seen 23,320.
The figure at Roscommon University Hospital is much lower at 4,588
