A local Independent Ireland TD says the recent reductions in speed limits on some roads are 'absolutely nuts'.
They dropped from 80 kilometres an hour down to 60 on rural roads last year.
The government also plans to reduce the speed limit on national primary and secondary roads from 100 down to 80.
