'A good news story' - Ballagh reacts as plans for more refugees turned down
The Abbeyfield Hotel Eroc Centre is on the Sligo Road in Ballaghaderreen

The Abbeyfield Hotel currently accommodates around 192 refugees - but a planning application was lodged to increase capacity to 310.

Plans to house over 300 refugees in Ballaghaderreen's emergency reception and orientation centre have been turned down.

The Abbeyfield Hotel currently accommodates around 192 refugees - but a planning application was lodged to increase capacity to 310, with 18 new bedrooms.

Roscommon County Council has refused the plans.
