Almost 300 children across the region are stranded on waiting lists for access to psychology services.
The figures were revealed by local Sinn Féin TD, Sorca Clarke, in response to a parliamentary question.
The data shows 297 children and young people were waiting for primary care psychology services across the region at the end of January 2026.
The highest number of patients was in the Galway-Roscommon region, at 172 children.
This includes 60 children waiting more than 52 weeks for treatment.
Meanwhile, 119 young patients were on waiting lists across the midlands, with 52 waiting over a year.
The number is significantly low in Sligo-Leitrim, with just six children waiting for treatment as of January 2026.
Nationally, 29,201 children and young people were waiting for primary care psychology services, with over 16,800 patients waiting a year or longer to be seen.
