22,000 local people signed up to auto-enrolment pension

Over 22,000 people in the Shannonside region are signed up to the state's auto-enrolment pension.

Over 843,000 workers around the country have been enrolled since it started in January.

It includes over 4,700 in Leitrim, over 7,800 in Longford, and over 9,300 in Roscommon.

Under the scheme, called MyFutureFund, workers pay money into the state's retirement savings system.
