21 new Gardaí have been allocated to the North West Region, which includes counties Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.
This morning, 154 Gardaí were sworn into service at the Garda College in Templemore.
Of those, 45 will be sent to the Dublin region, with 22 going to the East and 66 to the South.

It brings the total number of sworn Gardaí to 14,408, with a further 369 recruits currently undergoing training.
