It's been confirmed 21 candidates have sought the support of Roscommon County Council for nomination to contest the presidential election.
The local authority will convene next Monday, September 15, at 11 o’clock where candidates will be afforded five minutes to make a presentation to elected members.
To get on the ballot paper, candidates must secure the backing of 20 Oireachtas members or four local authorities.
Currently, Fianna Fáil's Jim Gavin, Heather Humphreys of Fine Gael and Independent Catherine Connolly are the only confirmed candidates for October 25th.

Longford County Council's meeting also takes place next Monday while Leitrim County Council's meeting is to be held next Wednesday, September 17th, at 11am.
