17 post offices in the Shannonside region have closed in the past 10 years.
The figures were released in response to a parliamentary question from Sinn Féin TD David Cullinane.
There were nine closures in Roscommon whilst there were four in both Longford and Leitrim.
Longford-Westmeath TD Micheál Carrigy is the postmaster of Ballinalee post office - he's calling for more funding to be provided over the next five years:
