Almost 120 extra refugees could be housed in Ballaghaderreen's Eroc Centre, if a planned extension gets the green light.
A decision is due to be made just before Christmas.
The Abbeyfield Hotel in Ballaghaderreen has been an emergency reception and orientation centre for refugees for over eight years.
Next Week and Company is looking to extend it, with 18 extra bedrooms.
They lodged a planning application with Roscommon County Council last December and the council looked for further information before deciding.
The council wanted to know how many people could be accommodated there because of the extension.
Planning consultants, acting for Next Week and Co, say there are currently 192 people living in the existing facility - including 101 adults and 91 children.
They say the maximum number will increase to 310 if the extension gets the go-ahead.
The initial plans also included a play area and an AstroTurf pitch.
The AstroTurf has been amended to now be an all-weather pitch that can be used all year round.
The council had noted the amenity space planned was mainly for children, not adults.
The plan has been revised to now include a paved hard landscaped area, which will include seating benches for residents to socialise.
Having received the extra information, the council is now due to decide on the application on December 17th.
