The Vatican says it estimates a quarter of a million people attended Pope Francis' funeral on Saturday.
President Michael D Higgins, Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tanaiste Simon Harris led the Irish delegation at the Vatican at the weekend.
However, a Longford family were one of the first Irish people to pay their respects to the late Pope when he lay in state on Wednesday.
The McLoughlin Family from Longford Town had been on holiday in North Italy when they learned of the Pope's death.
