Robert Pether's wife says his condition has deteriorated in recent months and he fears he won't make it home alive. The Australian national, was jailed in Baghdad amid a €20m contract row between his Dubai-based employer and the Central Bank of Iraq. His family, who live in Elphin in Roscommon, had expected him to be released in January this year, however fresh charges of money laundering were made against him.
