A local primary school is hoping to raise funds for a brand new all-weather pitch. St Coman's Wood in Roscommon town is hosting a 'Win a Car' competition to fund the development. It's due to ongoing flooding issues on school grounds which limits outside play for children. Participants in the draw could win a brand new Toyota Aygo courtesy of Dermot Hughes Cars.
School principal Una Feeley was speaking to Dan Dooner about the draw. She also spoke about recent industrial action by school secretaries and caretakers. The head teacher says the strike caused disruption but she backs those on the picket line:
