Castleplunkett woman Ruth Connolly-Conboy is set to fill the vacant seat left by Fine Gael Senator Gareth Scahill following his election to the Seanad earlier this year. Connolly-Conboy won the selection convention held at Tully's Hotel in Castlerea on Monday night.
She will officially become a councillor at the next Roscommon County Council meeting on April 28th. Darragh O'Connor spoke to Ruth after the convention and she says she's looking forward to starting in the council:
