Hundreds of residents and campaigners gathered in Boyle on Saturday for a rally concerning the proposed ALDI development in the town.
The project has been granted planning permission by Roscommon County Council but has been appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála by a third party.
Brian O'Sullivan of Kilcormac, County Offaly has appealed the planning permission granted by Roscommon County Council in January for the new Aldi Store, which hopes to create 30 new jobs.

It has since been clarified that Cllr Leah Cull was the only one of the six sitting Councillors that made contact with organisers once the notification was issued about the rally.
She sent her apologies as she had a prior engagement.
