Fine Gael councillor Liam Callaghan has been elected as the cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council.
He was chosen to succeed Fianna Fáil's Paschal Fitzmaurice on Monday.
Councillor Callaghan follows in his father Tom's footsteps, who was cathaoirleach in 1996 and '97.
