Extreme fundraiser sees Longford men run length of Royal Canal

A group of Longford men will be running the length of the Royal Canal over night for a number of charities

Wesley Jordan, Davin Mc Lynn and Fintan Cruise from the Brendan Doyle running club in Longford are running 149.7 kilometres from Dublin to Clondra in Longford.

The three men will also be joined by Liam Kiernan for 100 kilometres and a number of other athlethes for different legs of the journey.

The trio began their run last night from the Grand Canal Docks in Dublin and are expected into Clondra on Saturday afternoon.

The fundraiser has already surpassed €12,000 with the money going to the Laura Lyn Charity, Cian's Kennels and Bardet-Biedl Syndrome.

David McGlynn says anyone is welcome to join them on the route or at the finish line this afternoon.
