Excitement is building as one of the region's oldest musical society's is hitting the stage next week with a classic fan favourite.
Longford's well known St Mel's Musical Society was founded in 1978 and has brought dozens of shows to the stage since.
The society will perform 'Me and My Girl' next week in St Mel's College in Longford Town, from Easter Monday to Saturday the 26th of April.
St Mel's Musical Society first performed the show in the year 2000, with several members of that cast and crew involved with the new production.
The show has been described as a musical comedy featuring singing, dancing and a story set in 1930s England.
This year the group, which is run by an all volunteer committee, have partnered with the Longford Town Men''s Shed to build a custom set for the show with support from Creative Ireland.
