Sr. Evangelist Tiernan passed away on Monday, April 27th, 2026. Peacefully, surrounded by her family and Mercy Community, in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Roscommon Hospice.
Predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Peter; her sister Bernadette Duke and her husband Vincent (Leixlip); her brother Pat; and her brother-in-law Alan Boxall (Kent).
Sadly missed by her loving sisters Anna Griffin (Dublin), Josie Boxall (Kent), Sr. Margaret (Mercy Convent Longford), and her brother Fr. Peter (Cloone/Aughavas),
nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch.
Those we love don’t go away.
They walk beside us every day.

Reposing in Kelly’s Funeral Home (N39 K381) on Wednesday, April 29th, from 5pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm.
Removal from Convent of Mercy, St. Joseph’s Road, Longford (N39 C4E4) on Friday, May 1st, to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.
Burial afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery, Longford.
