Rupert de Lacy Staunton passed away on Sunday 3rd May 2026 peacefully at his home.
He is predeceased by his parents Eva and Maurice, infant son John, brothers Charlie and Hugh and his sister-in-law Mary.
Rupert will be sadly missed by his loving wife Margaret, heartbroken children, daughters Eva and Rosalind and sons Ian and Declan.
Deeply regretted by his sisters Ena and Dorothy, adored grandchildren Matthew, Nathaniel, Samuel, Isabelle, Max, Ivy and Leo, Eva’s partner Niall and Declan’s wife Emma, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Rupert will be reposing at his home (eircode F45 TV04) on Thursday from 5pm - 8pm (house private at all other times please). Removal on Friday morning to St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Gaynor Funeral Directors’ Facebook page.
