Peter Flanagan passed away on Wednesday, 17th September 2025. Peacefullly, in the devoted care of the staff at the Roscommon Hospice, after a long illness bravely borne, in the presence of his cherished family.
Predeceased by his parents Frank and Marie, his brothers Frank and John (infant) and sister Finola (infant).
Beloved husband to Mary (née Clarke), loving father of Claire, Ronan, Melanie, Sarah, Peter Jnr, John and Henry. Loving grandfather of Wayne, Mia, Harry, Julianne, Jack, Tom, James, Euan, Ruairí, Fionn, Sofia, Aoife, Laura, Peadar, Conor and Charlie and great grandfather of James. Deeply mourned by his family, sister Mary Reilly, brothers-in-law Dermot Reilly, Fr. Harry Clarke and Brendan Clarke. Deeply regretted by his sisters-in-law Moira Flanagan and Brigette Clarke, sons-in-law Kieran, Aidan and Brian, daughters-in-law Virginia, Sinéad and Caroline, Ronan's partner Veronica, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon F42 NH27 on Friday from 5 o’c until 7 o’c. Removal from his home on Saturday morning at 10.30 o’c arriving to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’c. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery.
