Michael Hackett died on Friday 9th January, 2026.  Peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital, after a long illness bravely borne.

Predeceased by his father Michael and his mother Christina.

Ssadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Cabrini, his son Brian (Caitríona), his daughter Tina (Joe), his sisters Mary Doherty (Paddy) and Noeleen Grimes (Mel), his brother Raymond (Joan) his adored granddaughters Éabha and Holleigh, extended family, neighbours, and his many friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78) on Sunday, 11th January, from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, 12th January, at 12.00 noon in St. Mary’s Church, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim (H12 AK84), followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, in lieu to the Renal Dialysis Unit, Cavan General Hospital.
