Mary Hevehan (nee Dowd) passed away on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026. In her 106th year after a brief illness. In the loving care of her family, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Aileen and Larry McEntee, Leafin, Nobber, Co. Meath.
Predeceased by her husband Michael (Mick), parents; William & Ellen Dowd, brothers; Tom, Josie & Willie and sister Eveleen (Mulvey).
Sadly missed by her daughters; Marian, Aileen & Gerardine and sons; Malachy & Liam. Adored by her grandsons;Barry, Aodhán, Fiachra, Tony & Lorcán and grand-daughters; Violetta & Sophie. Loved by her great-grandchildren; Finn & Laura. Deeply regretted by her sons-in-law; Terence, Larry and Liam, daughters-in-law; Jane & Grace, grand-daughters-in-law; Yvonne, Lorna and Allison, her sister-in-law and best friend Kathleen Dowd. Remembered by her nephews, nieces, grandnephews & grandnieces, relatives, neighbours & friends.
Mary will repose at Leafin, Nobber, Co. Meath on Friday 20th February from 4pm until 8pm, and at Dempsey’s Funeral home, Ballyforan, Co. Roscommon H53 HE63 on Sunday 22nd February from 3pm to 6pm, with removal afterwards to the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, Four Roads, F42P681, to arrive at 7pm. (Houses private at all other times).
Funeral Mass will take place on Monday 23rd February at 11.30am in Four Roads and can be viewed on
Burial afterwards in Tisrara Cemetery.
