John Treacy

Tralee and Roscommon Town.

John Treacy passed away on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, peacefully.

Son of the late Martin and May Treacy, Roscommon.

Cherished and beloved brother of Pat (Bernard, O.P.), Mary, Michael, Martin, and Joseph. Deeply regretted by his sister, brothers, relatives, many friends and former colleagues at Tralee Regional Technical College (now MTU).

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27), on Friday evening, 13 February from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, 14 February, at 11.00 am, in Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon, followed by burial at St Coman’s Cemetery, Roscommon.

House private and family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to St Vincent de Paul Society or Kerry Mountain Rescue Team.

John’s Funeral Mass will be broadcast and can be viewed at 11 o’c on Saturday by clicking https://www.churchtv.ie/roscommontown/.

RIP John Treacy - he was my guardian angel over 40 years back in Kerry. My mountaineering enthusiasm exceed my ability. A lot of good advice was always willingly given by John. Now a celestial angel. Condolences to his family & many friends
