John Joe Cox,

Bridge Street, Strokestown, Roscommon,

John Joe Cox passed away on Sunday 3rd May, 2026. Peacefully at Portiuncla Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret, and much loved father of Caroline (Alf), Michelle (Danny), Sean (Michelle), Geraldine (Mervyn), Teresa (Enda) and Patrick (Doreen).

Sadly missed by his sorrowing wife, devoted children, grandchildren, Emmett, Thomas, Luke, Cian, Katie, Eilish, Jamie, Killian, Megan, Sophie, Abi, Dylan, Charlie, Jack & Adam. Lovingly remembered by his brothers Mickey & Seamus, sisters Mary-Ann, Chris & Helen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his wide circle of friends.

John Joe is predeceased by his father & mother Paddy & Mary-Jane Cox, his brother Patsy and by his grandson baby Ryan Callaghan.

May his gentle soul Rest in Peace

Reposing at his home on Tuesday, May 5th, from 3pm until 8pm, and also on Wednesday, May 6th, from 3pm until 8pm. Removal on Thursday, May 7th, to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown, for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Scramogue Cemetery.
