Ita Trimble (née Cahill) passed away on October 26th, 2025. Peacefully, in the Roscommon Hospice, surrounded by her much loved family, after a long illness borne bravely.
Pre-deceased by her infant son Damien, her brother James, her sister Pauline and her parents; James and Margaret Cahill (Whitehall).
Forever missed by her beloved husband Seamus.
Remembered with love by her heartbroken family; Caroline (Hughie Kedian), Aisling (Stephen Healy), Dannielle (Peter Malenda), Sharon (Patrick O’Connor) and Ollie Quinn (Karen Griffen). Adored by her grandchildren; Rachel, Rebecca, Leah, Chloe, Molly, Sofia, Anthony and Jamie. Sadly missed by her siblings; John-Joe, Marian and Elizabeth, her brother-in-law Patrick, sisters-in-law; Mary and Marie, nieces and nephews. Deeply regretted by her wonderful neighbours, wide circle of friends and all extended family members, 19 Chernobyl children and her 35 foster children and her carers Maura, Anne, Belinda and Ruth.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Monday from 4 o’clock until 6 o’clock. Removal from her home on Tuesday morning arriving to St Mary’s Church, Ballagh for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in Kilgefin Cemetery.
Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Roscommon Hospice.
Ita’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all their relatives, neighbours and friends their kindess at this time. They would also like to acknowledge the Roscommon Hospital, Mullingar Hospital, Portiuncula Hospital and Roscommon Hospice for the compassion shown to Ita and also to them during her illness.

At Ita’s own request, those attending the funeral are invited to wear colourful clothes to represent and celebrate her bright life.
