Eileen Gillen (nee Cosgrove) passed away on Thursday, 26th February, 2026. Peacefully in her 93rd year, after a short illness. Surrounded by her loving family in the care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital
Predeceased by her husband Pat, parents; Patrick and Ellen, brothers; Eugene and Patrick, sisters; Margaret and Bridget.
Sadly missed and forever remembered with love by her family, daughters; Bridget and Patricia (Feeney), sons; Tom and John (Celbridge). Remembered by her son-in-law Sean, her adored grandsons; Graham and his partner Emma, Cormac and his partner Ellen and Killian. Fondly remembered by her cherished great-granddaughter Maya, sisters-in-law; Maureen (England) and Theresa (USA), brother-in-law John (England). Deeply regretted by her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and dear friends.
You were always someone special,
Someone kind and true
Who will never be forgotten,
For we thought the world of you.

Reposing in Connell’s Funeral Home, Church St, Longford, N39 KN66 on Sunday 1st March from 2pm concluding with prayers at 4.30pm.
Removal from her home on Monday 2nd to arrive to St. Mary’s Church, Ennybegs, N39 AH01 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Eileen will be laid to rest in the family plot in Aughaboy Cemetery.
