Des Kelly passed away peacefully on March 28th 2026, surrounded by his adored family, under the exceptional care of Roscommon Hospice.
Predeceased by his parents Vincent and Marcella Kelly, his sister Helen and his uncle Pat-Joe Mannion.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken family: devoted wife Sonja and adored children Lee (Megan), Jade and Étain. Lovingly remembered by his brother Noel (Mary), his sister Frances (Paddy), nieces Carol Garvey (Neilan) and Veronica Kelly (Corcoran), and his nephews Patrick and Enda Garvey. Deeply regretted by his aunt and uncle Rose and Benny Morris, mother in law, brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home on Monday evening, 30th March from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 31st March in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Derrane at 11:30 o’clock. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
The Kelly family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Mr. Mohsen Javadpour and team (Beaumont Hospital), Dr. Sylvie Blazkova (UHG and Portiuncula), Dr. Tom Donegan (Roscommon Medical Centre), Roscommon Hospice, Cancer Care West, Joanne and team at Esquires Roscommon and his many friends who visited and took him for lunch. Thank you to everyone who sent Des Get Well Mass Bouquets, holy medals, lit candles, and sent good wishes his way.
