Deirdre (Dickie) Kennedy (Née Kennedy) passed away on Sunday, 8th March 2026. Peacefully, at the North West Hospice, Sligo surrounded by her loving family.
Pre-deceased by her husband Donnaca and her infant son Donnaca Joseph and brothers; Rory and Michael.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her devoted family, Sons; Ciaran (Galway), Colm (California), Donal (Carrick-on-Shannon), Pierce (Galway), daughters; Ána (New Zealand), Helen, Mary (Carrick-on-Shannon) Bairbre (Kiltyclogher), Aoife (Brussels) and Una (Lucan). Sadly missed by her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her adored grandchildren; Tadhg, Caoimhe, Killian, Hannah, Conor, Aoife, Darragh, Liam, Niamh, Roisín, Hugh, Daniel, Donnacha, Jude, Grace, Daire, Matthew, Cathal and Fionn, great- grandson Tiernan. Remembered by her sister Maire (Lucan), brothers; Ciaran (Mount Merrion, Dublin), Dermot (Tallaght, Dublin), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Deirdre will repose at her home (N41 TK85) on Tuesday 10th March from 2 o’ clock until 7 o’ clock. Removal to St. Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday 11th March for Mass of Christian burial at 1:30 o’clock, followed by burial in St. Mary’s cemetery.
