Charlie Grimes died peacefully on Friday, 23rd January 2026. At Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his life, Helen, and his loving family.
Pre-deceased by his mother, Lena; father, James; brothers, John and Bill; and sister, Maria.
Greatly missed by his wife, Helen; his loving family, Teresa (London), Mark (Aughnacliffe), Ann-Marie (Turloughmore), Cathal (Coronea), Paul (Maynooth), Helena (Limerick). Remembered by his brother, Joe (Brighton); sons-in-law Derren, Ciaran, and Shane; daughters-in-law, Una, Dolores and Sinead. Adored by his grandchildren, George, Charlie, Oliver, Cody, Zoe, Ella, Leah, Abby, Ava, Conor, Emma, Grace and Sophia. Deeply regretted by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, great neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford (N39 EC81), on Wednesday 28th January from 6.00pm, concluding with prayers at 8.30pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday 29th January in St. Francis Xavier Church, Moyne at 12.00 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Charlie had a joy for life, mischievous and a great story teller.
