Catherine McDonnell (née Kelly) passed away on Friday, May 29th, 2026. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the devoted care of the wonderful staff at Roscommon Hospice.
Predeceased by her siblings Margaret, Teresa, P.J. and Ellie.
Beloved wife of the late Padraig and grandmother of the late Zac.
Much loved mother to Aidan, Alan, Joan, Anita, and Paula. Forever missed by her family, sister Mary (Mamie) Feeney (Boston), daughters and sons-in-law Laura, Róisín, Adrian and Kevin. Remembered by her grandchildren Alex, Jaime, Padraig, Shay, Henry, Chloe and Kate. Deeply regretted by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Sunday evening from 4 o’clock until 6 o’clock. Removal from her home on Monday morning at 10.30 arriving to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery.
The McDonnell family would like to express their sincere thanks to their relatives, neighbours and friends for their help and support at this time. They would also like to acknowledge the kindness and compassion shown to Catherine and to them by all the staff at Roscommon Hospice.
In keeping with Catherine’s love of life, those who attend the funeral are asked to wear bright colours.
